At Easter, we return to the centre of the Christian story. However, the first Easter morning probably did not feel clear or triumphant to those who experienced it. Everything had fallen apart. Jesus had been crucified, and with Him the hopes of His followers seemed to have died. But in that moment of uncertainty, God’s greatest plan was already unfolding. Quietly, powerfully, far beyond anything they could see or imagine.
It is a useful reminder that while we make our plans and work hard, God’s purposes are always greater and surer than our own. He is in control. More than anything, what He desires from us is not simply what we do for Him, but that we would be in relationship with Him.
Easter offers an invitation to return to that truth. To come back to the centre. To put being with God before doing for God.
The Gospel we celebrate is both simple and life changing. What we could not do for ourselves, God has done for us in Jesus Christ. Through His death and resurrection, forgiveness is offered, hope is restored, and new life is opened to all. His kingdom will come because of Him, and we are graciously invited to take part in seeing His kingdom realised.
For Relay Trust, this shapes everything we seek to do in Africa. The mission is not simply about effort or strategy, but about joining in with what God is already doing. With humility and hope, there is a commitment to walk alongside communities, trusting that the risen Jesus is still at work, bringing life, renewal, and transformation.
This Easter, whether full of faith or full of questions, there is encouragement to remember that God is at work, often in ways not yet understood, but always according to His good purposes.
Wishing you a joyful Easter, and sending love from our family to all of yours. God bless.
